Stable

The Stable is in Treligga, a hamlet a bit inland from the north Cornish coast. It's a converted barn for two people, one of four here. You get a bit of a sea view from the garden.

It's a four-star place, which means it's comfortable and well-fitted. It's all on one level with an open-plan living area. There's one bedroom and one bathroom. The kitchen has everything you'd need.

Outside, there's your own patio area and a shared, enclosed garden with picnic tables. There's a hot tub. You can charge an electric car here, but you need to bring your own cable.

The road to get here is very narrow, typical for Cornwall. Go slow and you'll be fine. The local village for shops and a pub is about two and a half miles away.

You're close to the coast path. A short walk north gets you to Tintagel, about three miles. A bit further is Boscastle harbour. Walking south, you can get to a small beach in about half a mile. Port Isaac, where they filmed Doc Martin, is a short drive, as is Polzeath for surfing.

Within about half an hour's drive you've got Padstow, Bodmin Moor for walking, and Newquay. The Camel Trail cycle path starts at Padstow. You can hire bikes there.

It's a good base. The folder in the cottage has more specific local info.
