The Old Farmhouse is in Michaelstow, up on Bodmin Moor. It's an old granite place, but we had it all done up properly a couple of years ago. It sleeps eight, four bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms. Got a 4 Star rating.
There's more space than you'd think. Three separate living rooms, which is handy if people want to do different things. One's got a woodburner. The kitchen is big and open plan, good for everyone to be in together. The stairs are a bit steep, like you get.
The garden's mature, so it's got some trees and shrubs. It's fully enclosed, so fine for dogs or kids. The views are out over fields and valleys. Quiet.
You're right on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Good walking straight from the door. The start of the Camel Trail for cycling is about two miles away in Wenfordbridge. You can hire bikes there.
By car, you're about fifteen minutes from the north coast. Trebarwith Strand for surfing, Tintagel Castle, Boscastle harbour. Port Isaac is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes. Polzeath and Padstow are within half an hour.
Inland, Pencarrow House is close for a day out. The Eden Project is about forty minutes south. You can get to most of Cornwall from here without too much driving.
Facilities: it's got pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. There's a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. We've put in an electric vehicle charger. You can have up to two dogs. There's parking for a couple of cars on the drive.
If you're planning walks or visits, the National Trust for Cornwall and Bodmin Moor sites are useful.
