This is Wallhouse Barn, near Blisland. It's on Bodmin Moor. To get here, you drive up a little private track across open moor. It's very quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. We've got a 4 Star rating, mainly because of the facilities. The barn is detached, so it's just you. For the layout, the main living area is on the ground floor. Then some granite steps go up to one of the bedrooms. Those steps are solid but they're quite steep. The barn has a mezzanine bit as well.
You can walk straight out onto the moor from the garden. The views are good. There's a decked patio out the back, and a little paddock. It's a nice spot for a drink in the evening.
The closest pub and shop is in Blisland village, about three miles away. It's a nice little village.
You're about half an hour from both the north and south coasts. Padstow is one way, Fowey the other. For walks, you're right on the moor. For other days out, the National Trust and English Heritage have a few places nearby, like Lanhydrock or Restormel Castle.
For facilities, it's got most things. Wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs. We're a working farm, so just be mindful of that with dogs. There's a cot and highchair if needed.
