The Shippon is on our farm up on Bodmin Moor. It’s one of three cottages here, converted from old stone farm buildings. You get your own patio with a table and chairs.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. There are steps up to the front door. The main room is open-plan with a wood-burning stove.
You’re welcome to walk around the 15 acres here. There’s ancient woodland, a river, and ponds. The land is part of the moor, so it’s properly rural. There are two unfenced ponds near the drive, so you’ll need to keep an eye on kids and dogs.
We allow up to two dogs. There’s a highchair and a cot if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You’ve got a dishwasher, a washing machine, wifi, and parking right outside.
The nearest shop and pub are in Warleggan, about three miles away. There’s a restaurant two miles away.
You’re in the middle of Bodmin Moor. For walking, you can just go straight out from the door. Cardinham Woods is about a 20-minute drive for cycling. The National Trust at Lanhydrock is roughly 20 minutes by car. The Eden Project is about half an hour away.
For the coast, Fowey is to the south and Padstow to the north. Both are around a 40-minute drive. The nearest proper beach is probably at Polkerris, which is about 35 minutes.
