The Tallet

The Tallet is one of three cottages here at Mennabroom, on the edge of Bodmin Moor. It’s a converted stone barn, so it’s got thick walls and low beams in places. You’re down a private drive, behind the main farmhouse.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s comfortable and well-equipped, not just basic.

You get your own patio area with furniture. There’s about fifteen acres of land here you can walk around, including woods and a river. There’s a big shared grass area too. The gardens have ponds, so you’ll need to keep an eye on children and dogs. The drive has a stream running across it, which you step over. It’s fine, just wear shoes that can get wet.

The nearest shop and pub are about three miles away in Warleggan. The pub does food. There’s a restaurant two miles away.

For a day out, the Lanhydrock House estate is close. The Eden Project is about a twenty minute drive. Good walking and cycling at Cardinham Woods, maybe fifteen minutes by car. Bodmin is the start of the Camel Trail for cycling. The north coast, like Padstow, is roughly forty minutes. The south coast, like Fowey, is about the same.

Inside, there’s a woodburning stove, WiFi, a TV, dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside.

You can bring up to two dogs. There’s fishing available on a big lake less than a mile away if that’s your thing.
