The Roost

The Roost is one of three cottages here at Sandy Barn. We live in the main house on site, so we're around if you need anything. The cottage is detached. It's old granite, about two hundred years, so the walls are thick.

It sleeps two. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. The rating is five star, which means it's well equipped and kept to a good standard. It's open plan downstairs. The stairs are a typical cottage spiral, so they're a bit tight.

You're on the edge of Bodmin Moor here. You can walk straight out onto it. The village, St Breward, is the highest in Cornwall. There's a village shop and a pub that does food, both about a five minute walk away.

For the coast, Trebarwith Strand is the closest, about twenty minutes by car. Places like Polzeath and Daymer Bay are within half an hour or so. Padstow, Port Isaac, and Tintagel are all within about thirty minutes drive too.

Further afield, the Lanhydrock estate is great for a day out. The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are also within easy reach.

The cottage has a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There's parking right outside and an electric vehicle charger. The garden is patioed, with a BBQ. It's fully enclosed, which is good for dogs. We take up to three pets. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
