Old Brock Cottage is one of four on the old farm at Hallagenna, just outside St Breward on Bodmin Moor. It's a two-up, two-down cottage that sleeps four.
It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, not luxurious. The walls are thick stone and the beams are original. It's a proper old Cornish cottage.
The layout is a bit different. The living room and dining area are upstairs. That's so you get the view. You look out over the courtyard and straight onto the moor. The two bedrooms and the bathroom are downstairs. The main bedroom has a couple of steps down into it.
There's a wood burner in the living room. We provide a basket of logs to get you started. The kitchen has what you need: fridge, microwave, washing machine. There's an enclosed courtyard garden at the front with a barbecue.
You're right on the edge of Bodmin Moor. You can walk straight out from the cottage onto it. It's good for dogs. There are horses in the fields and sometimes you see the miniature pigs and chickens about.
The village pub is about a ten minute walk. It's 11th century and does food. For a bike ride or a flat walk, the Camel Trail is about three miles away. You can cycle to Padstow on it.
The north coast is about a twenty minute drive. Port Isaac is that way, and Padstow. Tintagel and the English Heritage castle are a bit further along.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, parking is right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. The entrance is step-free, but the main bedroom has those steps down I mentioned.
