The Shooting Lodge

The Shooting Lodge is on our farm in Washaway. It's a converted barn, about two hundred years old. There are two big grain silos right next to it, about eight yards from the building. You'll see them from the garden.

It sleeps eighteen people. Eight bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. It's got a four star rating. It's spacious and comfortable, not particularly fancy. There are two sitting rooms and a games room with a pool table and an open fire.

You have your own garden with a kids' play area. The farm is 850 acres. It's arable land and we rear pheasants. It's quiet. We keep things running, so you'll hear and see farm vehicles sometimes.

The fence between you and the silos is sturdy, but if you've got very small children you'll want to keep an eye on them. The garden is enclosed apart from that.

We can arrange clay pigeon shooting on the estate if you want it. There's fishing on the property too.

For local things, the nearest pub is about three miles away in St Mabyn. Shop is a mile and a half. Wadebridge is four miles away. They've got a sports centre with a pool and tennis courts.

You're in the Camel Valley. Bodmin Moor is right there if you want to walk. The north coast, places like Port Isaac and Padstow, are about twenty minutes by car. The south coast, Fowey and Looe, are about half an hour.

For historic sites, Lanhydrock House is close by, and Tintagel Castle is up on the north coast. Useful links if you're planning: National Trust Cornwall and Cornwall National Landscape.

The facilities are all listed. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's parking for several cars on the gravel next to the lodge.
