Penno Cottage is in Bodmin, Cornwall. It’s a one-bedroom place, so it’s just for two. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it’s well kitted out and comfortable.
The main thing is it’s down a quiet country lane, set around a courtyard. There are chickens wandering about. The views are over fields.
Inside, it’s all on the ground floor. Open plan living area with a wood-burning stove. It’s got a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. There's a shower room. Bedding and towels are included.
You can walk to the local pub in about ten minutes. There’s a shop about a mile and a half away.
A short walk down the lane brings you to the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway station. You can get the train into Bodmin itself. From the other station, Bodmin Parkway, you can walk to Lanhydrock House, which is National Trust.
The Camel Trail is also within walking distance. It’s a flat, old railway line that’s good for cycling and walking. You can follow it along the estuary. Camel Valley Vineyard is up that way too, if you fancy trying the wine.
By car, Bodmin Moor is about twenty minutes. You can go to Rough Tor or Brown Willy for a proper walk. The north coast – Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac, Padstow – is within half an hour. The south coast – Fowey, Looe – is about the same. The Eden Project is twenty minutes away.
You can bring up to two dogs. There’s bike storage and parking right outside.
