Penno Cottage is in Bodmin, Cornwall. It's a one bedroom place, sleeps two. It's got a 5 Star rating, but I'd say that's more about it being well-equipped and clean than being posh.
It's set back off a quiet lane, around a courtyard. There are chickens wandering about. You get a view over the fields from the cottage.
The bathroom has a shower. The living area is open plan. It has a wood burning stove, which is nice in the evening. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Towels and bedding are included. You can park right outside.
We allow up to two dogs. There's space to store bikes if you bring them.
The local pub is about half a mile walk. It does food. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away in Bodmin.
You can walk to the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway station from the cottage. It's a pleasant steam train ride into Bodmin town. From there you can visit the Bodmin Jail attraction or just have a look around.
Also within walking distance is the start of the Camel Trail. It's a flat, traffic-free path on an old railway line. Good for walking or cycling. You can follow it to the Camel Valley Vineyard.
By car, Bodmin Moor is about fifteen minutes away. Good for walks up Rough Tor or Brown Willy. The north coast places like Tintagel, Boscastle, and Padstow are within half an hour. So is the south coast, like Fowey. The Eden Project is about a twenty minute drive.
