Lower Colvannick is a granite farmhouse in Millpool, right on the edge of Bodmin Moor. It's part of a working farm, so you'll see sheep and cattle in the fields around it. There's a private path with stone steps that leads straight up onto the moor from the garden.
The house sleeps seven in four bedrooms. There are two doubles, one twin and a single. Two bathrooms, one is an en-suite. The main bathroom was done up a couple of years ago. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You come in through a sun room, which leads to a utility room with a big old stone fireplace. The living room has a wood burner and views over the fields. The kitchen has what you need. There's a separate dining room with another fireplace.
The garden is yours to use. There's parking for a few cars. You get bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, a TV, and a cot if you need it. No pets, sorry, because of the farm.
The hamlet is quiet. Blisland village is close, it has a pub and a shop. You can walk into Cardinham Woods from the house. Padstow is about half an hour's drive for the harbour and beaches.
For days out, the National Trust Cornwall page is good. Bodmin Moor has its own site for walking routes. The Cornwall Council website lists all the main beaches and their facilities.
