Cross Cottage is one of three barns we've converted here, along with our house. They're all about two hundred years old, made of granite, and set around a courtyard at the end of a private lane. The place is detached and you get a view over the fields.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. There are slate floors and exposed beams. It's not huge, but it's comfortable and clean.
You're on the edge of St Breward, which is the highest village in Cornwall. That means you're right on Bodmin Moor. The landscape is all tors and open space. Good for walking, cycling, or just getting some quiet.
The local shop and the pub are about a quarter of a mile away. The pub does food. For a beach, Trebarwith Strand is the closest, about twenty minutes by car. Other good ones like Polzeath or Daymer Bay are within forty minutes.
Wadebridge, Padstow, and Port Isaac are all within half an hour if you want to go for a meal or a wander. Tintagel and Boscastle are nearby too. For a proper day out, the Lanhydrock estate, the Eden Project, or the Lost Gardens of Heligan are all easy to get to.
Facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, wifi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is on site, and there's an electric vehicle charger. We allow dogs, up to three.
