High View

High View is one of three cottages here at Sandy Barn, along with my house. They're all old granite barns, about 200 years old, set around a courtyard at the end of a private lane. It's quiet here, surrounded by fields.

It's a single-storey barn so there are no stairs, which is useful. It sleeps two, one bedroom with one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's cosy, with slate floors and exposed beams. There's a woodburning stove. We provide the bedding and towels, and there's a washing machine.

You can bring up to three dogs. There's parking right outside and we have an electric vehicle charging point.

We're in St Breward, which is the highest village in Cornwall, right on the edge of Bodmin Moor. You can walk straight out onto the moor from the door. The views are good up there.

The village shop and the pub are both about a quarter of a mile away, easy to walk to. The pub does food.

The nearest beach is Trebarwith Strand, about a 20 minute drive. Other good ones like Polzeath or Daymer Bay are within half an hour or so. Padstow, Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel are all within easy reach for a day out.

If you want to visit bigger attractions, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are about 40 minutes away. Lanhydrock, the National Trust house, is a bit closer.
