The Byre Warleggan

The Byre is one of three cottages here at Mennabroom, in Warleggan on Bodmin Moor. It's a single-storey place, converted from an old stone barn. Sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, with things like underfloor heating. The bed is a king-size.

The front door is up a few steps from the shared drive, but there's a back door with just one step if that's easier for you.

Outside, you've got your own little patio area with a table and chairs. You're welcome to wander around the 15 acres of land here. There are woods and a river. There are two ponds by the drive, they're unfenced, so something to be aware of if you have a dog or small children. There's also a big shared grass area for games and a barbecue spot.

It's very quiet here. You're right on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor. The landscape is all open moorland, tors, and little valleys. It's an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Facilities wise: it's open plan, with a woodburning stove, TV, wifi, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.

For things to do, you're well placed. The Eden Project is about a 20 minute drive. Lanhydrock House is similar, maybe half an hour. The north coast, like Padstow, is 40 minutes or so. The south coast, like Fowey, is about the same. Good walking starts from the door. For cycling, Cardinham Woods or the Camel Trail from Bodmin are close by. The nearest shop and pub are in the village, about three miles away.
