Spring Gardens Cottage is in Wadebridge. It's a proper Georgian townhouse, part of a small group around a courtyard. The owners live next door, so they're around if you need anything, but you get your own bit of courtyard garden to the side.
It was all done up a couple of years ago, so it's fresh inside but still feels old. There's a big fireplace in the living room with a wood burner. You don't really need to light it in summer, but it's good for the colder months.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star, mostly because everything is newish and works well. The bathroom has a shower over the bath.
The good thing about the location is you're right in the middle of the town. Walk out of the courtyard and you're on the main street. So there are shops, and a few pubs and restaurants are a two minute walk away. But because it's in that courtyard, it's dead quiet at night.
Being in Wadebridge means you're central for a lot of things without being right in the thick of it. Padstow is a short drive, Port Issac is a bit further. Polzeath beach is about seven miles away for the surf.
The Camel Trail starts here. You can hire bikes in town and just join it. It's flat and follows the old railway line, so it's good for a proper cycle or a gentle walk. You can go right along the estuary.
There are some big houses and gardens near here if that's your thing. The National Trust ones are Lanhydrock, Trerice, and Bedruthan Steps with the big rocks on the beach.
Practical stuff: there's parking for one car right by the cottage. It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
