Downhouse Cottage

Downhouse Cottage is on the edge of Trewarmett, near Tintagel. It's an old stone cottage, with a bit that was added on later. It looks out over fields and you can see the sea from the garden.

Sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs and a bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The water comes from our own borehole. It's lovely soft water. We get it tested every year, so it's fine to drink.

The stairs are cottage stairs. Steep and a bit twisty. There's a stairgate at the bottom.

You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed but it's not Fort Knox, so if your dog is a real escape artist, keep an eye on them.

The sitting room has a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. There's a TV and WiFi. The kitchen has a dishwasher. Outside, there's a patio with furniture and a barbecue, and the view from there is the main thing. You just look out over the fields to the coast.

The South West Coast Path is about a ten minute walk away. You can walk to Tintagel from here, but it's a proper coastal walk so wear decent shoes. The nearest bit of beach is about a mile down the hill.

The village of Tintagel is about a mile away. There's a shop, pubs, and the castle is there. Tintagel Castle is English Heritage. Boscastle is a short drive. It's a nice harbour.

Port Isaac is about fifteen minutes by car. Polzeath for surfing is maybe twenty minutes. Rock and Padstow are a bit further, maybe half an hour. You get the ferry from Rock to Padstow.

There's parking for one car right by the cottage.
