Downhouse Cottage
Downhouse Cottage is in Trebarwith. It's a 17th century stone cottage, one of a pair. It's up on the hill, so the views out to sea are very good.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. The water comes from our own borehole. It's lovely water, we get it tested every year. You won't need bottled.
There's a wood burner in the sitting room. The original clome oven is still there in the fireplace, which is interesting. The floors are flagstone and there are beams. It feels old, but it's warm.
You can walk down to Trebarwith Strand from here. It's about a mile across the fields. It's a good surfing beach when the tide is out. The coastal path runs right past, so you can walk for miles.
The Mill House pub is about a mile away. They do food. The Port William is there too, by the beach.
For days out, Tintagel Castle is about ten minutes by car. Boscastle harbour is close too. Port Isaac, where they filmed Doc Martin, is maybe a fifteen minute drive. If you want to go over to Padstow, you can get the ferry from Rock.
Facilities: There's a garden with a BBQ, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking right there. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. You can bring two dogs. They can have a run in the field.
