Purlinney

Purlinney is in Trebarwith, up on the north coast. It’s a row of three cottages stuck together, and this is one of them. You’re on a working farm, so it’s quiet. You can see Trebarwith Strand from here.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, which is handy, and three bathrooms, which is even handier for a group. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The conversion was done well, so it’s comfortable. There are beams and slate floors, and in the living room there’s a big old fireplace with a clome oven from the 1400s. It’s just there, part of the place.

You get your own bit of garden to sit out in. There’s parking. All the basics are covered: towels, bedding, washing machine, wifi, TV. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.

The coastal path runs past the farm, so you can walk straight onto it. Trebarwith beach is down the hill. It’s a good surf beach when the tide’s right. Polzeath and Rock are a short drive one way, and Boscastle and Tintagel are a short drive the other. The National Trust has places at Tintagel if you’re into that. The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away in Delabole.

If you’re planning days out, these sites are useful: Cornwall Council Coastal Path and National Trust Cornwall.
