Rosefern is our house in Tintagel. It’s detached and was finished in late 2022, so it’s all new. Underfloor heating everywhere, which is good when it’s a bit damp.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It’s got a 5 Star rating, which means it’s well-equipped and comfortable. The main entrance and the living space are on one level, which is useful.
You’re up on the headland. It’s a five-minute walk down to the village, or to the coastal path. The path goes right past Tintagel Castle, which is an English Heritage site. It’s dramatic. The beach right below the castle is Castle Beach, which is good for a paddle when the tide's out. For a proper swim or surf, Trebarwith Strand is about a mile and a half along the coast. Bossiney is closer.
There’s a local shop and a couple of pubs in the village. For a bigger shop, you’d drive to Wadebridge or Camelford.
Within about half an hour you can get to Port Isaac, which is that village from the TV show. Boscastle is ten minutes north, Crackington Haven about twenty minutes. Padstow is half an hour south. Bude is twenty minutes north. If you fancied a day on Dartmoor, it’s just over an hour to get to the edge of it.
Most of the coastline here is looked after by the National Trust, so the walking is excellent.
What’s here: it’s all open plan downstairs. Enclosed garden. Parking for a couple of cars. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We’ve got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. It’s accessible at the entrance and the main living area is level. We take up to two dogs.
