Pillar Box Cottage

Pillar Box Cottage is in Trenale. It's a small hamlet just outside Tintagel, about a fifteen minute walk. It's a detached cottage, so you're not sharing walls.

It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, which fits. It's clean and comfortable, but it's an old cottage. The doorways are low. Mind your head. The beams are low too.

It looks out over the hamlet green. You've got your own small patio garden. You share the slate courtyard with the owner's other holiday home, but they're separate buildings.

Tintagel is less than a mile away. That's where the castle ruins are, and the coast path. The Old Post Office is a National Trust property. Trebarwith Strand is about two and a half miles. It's a good sandy beach when the tide's out. There's a bar and restaurant there.

Boscastle and Port Isaac are both within seven miles. They're the pretty fishing villages you see on TV. Camelford has an indoor swimming pool, which is handy if the weather's bad.

For days out, you can get to Bude, Newquay, or Bodmin Moor within about half an hour. The South West Coast Path is obviously right there. The Camel Trail for cycling is about five miles away at the start.

Facilities: there's on site parking, a washing machine, a cot and a stairgate if you need them. Bedding is included. No pets, sorry.
