Haven Cottage is in Port Isaac. It's a terraced fisherman's cottage right in the middle of the village, about 50 yards from the front. You've probably seen it before, as it was used as Doc Martin's house on the telly.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. The stairs are quite steep and narrow, so watch your step. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after, but the main thing is the location.
You're right in the thick of it. The front door opens onto Squeeze Belly Alley. You can hear the gulls and smell the sea. There are good pubs and restaurants literally a stone's throw away, including Nathan Outlaw's places if you're after a special meal.
There's no parking at the cottage. You park in the village long-stay car park, which is about a five minute walk away. You'll need to unload your bags at the top of the alley and carry them down. It's part of the deal with a place this old.
For facilities, it's got an open fire, an Aga, a washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
From the door, you're straight onto the coastal path for walking. Padstow is about a 20 minute drive south. Rock and Polzeath are close for beaches and surfing. Tintagel and Boscastle are about 25 minutes north up the coast. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline here. For more on the area, Visit Cornwall has good information.
