Knights Den is a detached cottage on a quiet street in Port Isaac. It's a fisherman's loft, so it's tall and thin. You can see the sea from the top windows.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's comfortable and well kept. The stairs inside are a proper ship's ladder, steep and narrow. You need to take care on them.
Outside, there's a raised courtyard. It's got a table and chairs. It's private and gets the sun in the evening.
The village centre and harbour are a five minute walk downhill. The shop and a couple of restaurants are about the same. The pub is maybe a minute further. You know it from Doc Martin. It's still a working fishing village, so it gets busy in summer but it has its own life the rest of the year.
The coastal path runs right past the top of the street. You can walk to Port Gaverne, or towards Polzeath if you're up for it. The beach here is a small shingle cove by the harbour. For sand, you drive to Polzeath or Daymer Bay. They're about ten minutes by car.
You're well placed for the area. Tintagel Castle is 15 minutes up the coast. The Camel Trail for cycling starts in Wadebridge, which is 15 minutes inland. Padstow is 20 minutes around the estuary. For a longer day out, the Eden Project is about 40 minutes south.
The facilities are all there. It has a woodburner for winter, a dishwasher, wifi, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We accept up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You can park one car on the street outside.
