St Illex

St Illex is in Port Gaverne, between Port Isaac and Polzeath. It's a detached, single-storey house on a headland. The main thing is the view, which is straight out over the sea from the front.

It sleeps eight, which is good for a couple of families or a group. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 5 Star property, so it's a high standard. The living area is open plan with big bi-fold doors that open onto the patio. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings.

You can walk down to the little beach at Port Gaverne in about six or seven minutes. Port Isaac, which you might know from the TV, is a bit further along the coast path. It's a proper fishing village with narrow lanes. There are a couple of good fish shops there for crab and lobster.

The coastal path goes right past the house, so you can walk straight out. A few minutes walk down at Port Gaverne beach there's a company that does kayaking and paddleboarding if you want to try that.

Polzeath beach, which is good for surfing, is a short drive away. Padstow is about a 20-25 minute drive. That's where you'll find the Rick Stein restaurants and the start of the Camel Trail cycle path. Tintagel and Boscastle are also within about half an hour.

Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking for a few cars, and bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed. You can bring up to two dogs.
