The Lookout is a bungalow in Port Gaverne, just outside Port Isaac. It's all on one floor, which is handy. It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a Four Star rating because everything's been done to a good standard and it's well looked after.
The main thing is the view. Big glass doors at the front open onto a deck looking out over fields. The ones at the back open to a terrace with a sea view. You can see the coast from there. It's a great spot for a coffee in the morning.
Inside, it's open plan, modern and spacious. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. All the usual stuff is here: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is on site.
You can bring two dogs. There's a patio and garden area for them, and the coastal path is right there.
Port Gaverne itself is down the hill. It's a secluded little bay. The Port Gaverne Hotel is there, which does good food. Port Isaac is about half a mile's walk along the coastal path. That's the Doc Martin village. It's got a working harbour, shops, cafes and pubs. It can get busy in summer.
For beaches, Polzeath is about a ten minute drive. It's good for surfing. Rock is a bit further along, maybe fifteen minutes. From Rock you can get the ferry over to Padstow. Padstow has the shops, the Rick Stein places, and the start of the Camel Trail. The trail is a flat, old railway line good for bikes or walks to Wadebridge.
If you want to explore further, Tintagel Castle is about twenty minutes up the coast. Boscastle is a pretty fishing village nearby. Crackington Haven and Bude have good sandy beaches and are within half an hour's drive.
