This is Poets Corner in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight. It's a detached house on a corner plot, so there's a bit more space and light around it.
It's a big place, sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got the full five-star rating, so everything's been looked after to a high standard. The garden at the back is a good size. There's furniture and some games out there, plus a patio area at the front. You can park on the drive at the side.
Inside, the front room has a baby grand piano. It's tuned and you're welcome to play it. The furniture is a mix of styles. The bedrooms upstairs have views, some over the downs and you can see a bit of the sea from the front ones.
You're a few minutes' walk from Freshwater Bay beach. Just go down the road. The village has a shop, a couple of pubs, places to eat. For a proper surf, Compton Bay is about a ten-minute drive.
The walking is the main thing here. You’re right on the edge of the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Tennyson Trail starts up on the downs behind the house. You can walk to The Needles from there, or along the coast path. For a different kind of day, you can drive to Yarmouth in about fifteen minutes for the ferry or the castle, or go to Osborne House near East Cowes, which is maybe half an hour.
What's here: the garden, parking, wifi, a washing machine and dishwasher, a TV, a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. No pets sorry.
