Mulberry Lodge is our place in Totland on the Isle of Wight. It's a detached house on a private driveway. It sleeps five, two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a 5 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The main thing about it is the view. You can see the sea from the main living area. The big window there is an arch shape with a stained-glass section in it. The ceiling is high and there's a sort of mezzanine level overlooking the room, which we use as a reading spot.
There's a wood burner in the lounge, which is good for cooler evenings. We leave the wood for it.
The garden is on different levels with paths and seating areas. You can sit out there with a drink. It's not a huge lawn for running about on, but it's private and you get that sea view from it.
You can park three cars on the drive. Pets are welcome, up to three.
It's a short walk down into Totland village for shops. Freshwater Bay is close. It's a pebble beach, good for swimming and rock pooling at low tide. You can walk along the coast path from there.
The coastal path is right on the doorstep, really. You can walk for miles. The National Trust owns a lot of the downland around here.
Yarmouth is a ten-minute drive. It's a proper little harbour town with places to eat and you can watch the boats. Alum Bay and the Needles are about fifteen minutes by car. You can get the chairlift down to the beach there if you want.
For facilities, you've got the basics: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ for the garden.
