Melody Cottage is a cosy two-bedroom period cottage tucked away down a quiet street, in the heart of the picturesque fishing village of Lympstone. Located just off The Strand, this holiday home is an ideal base for those wishing to explore the beautiful coastline of the Exe estuary. The cottage has bags of character with exposed beams throughout and is a home away from home. The local pub, Lympstone train station, village store and the estuary shore are all within a minute’s walk away.
The ground floor is open plan with a kitchen/diner and living room, separated by a staircase. The living area is comfortably furnished with plenty of seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a home cooked meal. There is a door leading to a rear courtyard which is a shared space for the neighbours, but guests do not have access to use this. As the evening draws to a close, drift off to sleep within one of the two well-presented bedrooms; the first has a double bed and the second has twin beds. The family bathroom is fitted with a shower over the bath.
Melody Cottage is only a minutes’ level stroll from the pretty harbour, shop/post office, friendly village pubs, restaurants, an ice cream parlour and café. Michael Caine’s luxury hotel, Lympstone Manor, is also within easy walking distance offering Michelin-starred dining and afternoon teas. Access to the cycle paths to Exmouth and Topsham are just seconds from the house and the village boasts eighteen footpaths providing beautiful coastal and country walks.
A short 10-minute drive into Exmouth will take you to the miles of sandy beaches along the Jurassic Coast, or it is an easy drive inland to the beautiful moors. The village train station has a frequent and regular service to Exmouth and Exeter, and there is also a bus service close by. Lympstone is within easy reach of many attractions including the cathedral city of Exeter, Dartmoor National Park, Crealy Family Adventure Park, World of Country Life at Exmouth, and Sidmouth’s world-famous donkey sanctuary. You’ll struggle to fit everything into one visit to Melody Cottage and you will certainly want to stay time and time again!
