The village of Uplyme lies just 1 mile outside the ever popular seaside resort of Lyme Regis, and the stunning World Heritage Jurassic Coast, with its wonderful walks and scenery. Within a short drive you can be in the heart of the town with its picturesque harbour, sandy beach and renowned Cobb where you can fossil hunt, fish, swim, go boating or simply wander around the quaint shops and restaurants in this characterful resort. River Cottage Kitchen, where you can attend cookery courses, is within easy reach, or perhaps enjoy a day exploring the Heritage Coast, where there are many smaller seaside resorts. These stretch from Exmouth in the west to Weymouth and Portland in the east. The scenic coastal road from West Bay and Bridport provides superb views overlooking Chesil beach. Other attractions in the area include a donkey sanctuary, Forde Abbey and Gardens, Broadwindsor Craft Centre and Fleet Air Arm Museum in south Somerset. You will certainly have plenty to do.
