Mermaid Cottage is in Portmellon Cove, near Mevagissey. It's one of a terrace of old fishermen's cottages, built right into the rocks.
It sleeps six, but it's in two bedrooms. One has two sets of bunk beds. That room leads into the main double room, which has a washbasin. There are two bathrooms: one upstairs with a bath, and a shower room on the lower floor.
The kitchen and dining room are on the lower level. It has a big fireplace with a woodburning stove. There's a table for six. The sitting room is on the middle floor.
Outside, there's a private patio with a view of the sea. Steps go down to a lower patio which is shared with the cottage next door, and then onto the rocks. At high tide you can swim from there. At low tide, there's a sandy beach for rockpooling. Because of the rocks and steps, it's not a good place for young children or toddlers. You can bring one dog.
It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. You've got WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and bedding is included.
There's a local pub a short walk away. Mevagissey harbour is about a mile. It's a proper old fishing village, quite busy in summer. For a bigger town, St Austell is about a 15 minute drive. The South West Coast Path is right there if you want to walk.
