Zion Cottage
Zion Cottage is in Gorran Haven. It's about 300 yards to the beach and the little harbour. It's a two-up-two-down, a fisherman's cottage originally.
It sleeps six, in two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. The main thing to know is the layout is flipped. The kitchen and both bedrooms are upstairs. The living room and bathroom are downstairs. I know that sounds odd, but you get used to it quickly. The stairs are fairly steep, as you'd expect.
One bedroom has a double bed. The other has two single beds and a built-in bunk bed set into the wall, which is good for two more. The bathroom downstairs has a small half bath, which is really for kids, and a proper shower for adults. There's a washing machine and tumble dryer in a utility room off the living room.
The village is quiet. There's a local shop, a cafe by the beach, and a fish and chip shop. There's also a pub. The South West Coast Path runs right through, so you can start a walk from the door.
For days out, Mevagissey is about three miles away. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a similar distance. The Eden Project is about ten miles. You can get to Fowey or St Mawes in maybe half an hour by car. St Austell is the nearest bigger town for supermarkets and has the mainline train station. Truro is about 25 minutes drive.
Facilities: everything's included like bedding, towels, electricity. There's WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. We've got a cot and a stairgate if needed. No pets.
