Old Town Cove

It's called Old Town Cove. It's on a holiday park in St Merryn, between Padstow and Newquay.

The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one with bunk beds and one double. One bathroom, with a bath that has a shower over it. It has a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean, comfortable, and does the job, but it's not high-end.

It's detached, so you've got your own space. There's a small open-plan living area with a kitchen, sofa and chairs, and a TV. Outside the front door there's a picnic bench.

The holiday park itself gives you access to Harbour Cove beach, which is a sandy bay. It's good for families.

You're well placed for the north coast beaches. Porthcothan Bay is about five minutes drive. It's a wide sandy beach. Trevone Bay is about ten minutes, that one has rocks and pools. Harlyn Bay is similar. For surfing, Fistral Beach in Newquay is famous, that's about twenty minutes.

Padstow is a ten minute drive. It's busy. Good for fish and chips, pasties, and some fancier restaurants. The Camel Trail for walking and cycling starts there. You can hire bikes.

Newquay is about fifteen minutes the other way. It's a proper seaside town. Bars, shops, and the Blue Reef Aquarium if the weather turns.

Inland, Bodmin Moor is about half an hour away if you want a change from the coast. It's wild and open.

Facilities: There's parking right by the cottage. Bedding and towels are included. There's a TV and a washing machine. The garden is just the paved area with the bench. No pets.
