The Old Smithy is in Poundstock, about two miles back from the coast at Widemouth Bay. It's a detached, single-storey cottage built in what used to be the village smithy. Sleeps two, one bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is the space. It's one big open room with a high ceiling and wooden beams. The kitchen's in there with an island, and the living area opens out through doors to a private, enclosed garden. There's a table and chairs out there. The bedroom is separate.
It's a bright, modern inside in an old building. They designed it to be eco-friendly. The bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower. There's underfloor heating.
You can store bikes or surfboards. Widemouth Bay beach is about a five minute drive. It's a good, wide sandy beach for surfing or walking. At low tide you can see the rock formations.
Bude is ten minutes away by car. It's a small town with shops, supermarkets, cafes, and a few restaurants. There's a sea pool there too. For a day out, Boscastle harbour is about twenty minutes north. Tintagel Castle is maybe twenty-five minutes. The English Heritage site has all the details for that. Port Isaac is around half an hour's drive.
For facilities, it's got a washing machine, WiFi, a TV, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it.
