By The Byre is on the edge of Bude. It's a barn conversion in the grounds of a bed and breakfast, but it's completely private with its own garden. You'd probably see us about, but the place is all yours.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one double and one with two single beds. There's one bathroom, which is a wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
Inside, it's one big open space with a high ceiling, so it feels quite airy. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. You get bedding and towels.
Outside is a small, enclosed courtyard garden. It gets the sun and has a barbecue. The view is over the valley.
It's good for dogs, you can bring two. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
Location is the main thing. You're about a ten minute walk from the centre of Bude, where all the shops and pubs are. The Bude Canal path and the cycleway run right past the property, so you can walk or cycle into town without going on the road. The nearest beach is about a mile and a half away.
For a day out, you've got the whole north Cornish coast. Bude's beaches are good for surfing. You can walk the coast path from here. If you drive, Tintagel Castle is about half an hour away, and Boscastle is a bit closer. Dartmoor is just over the border in Devon, about a 40 minute drive.
