This is Harrowbeard House. We built it ourselves about ten years ago. It's a detached place, right in Marhamchurch village.
It sleeps eight, across four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The living room is large and has a wood burner. There are three sets of French doors there that open onto the terrace. That's the best feature, I'd say. It's a big patio, south facing, and the view is over fields to the sea. You can sit out there with a drink in the evening.
The stairs inside are standard, not a spiral staircase. Everything is on one level except the bedrooms, which are upstairs. The entrance and the main rooms are wheelchair accessible.
The kitchen is big, with a dining table in it. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs.
The village is quiet. There's a shop and a pub, both a few minutes' walk away. The pub does food, with local meat and fish.
The coast is two and a half miles away. Widemouth Bay is the main beach there, it's sandy and good for surfing. Bude is a bit further, maybe ten minutes by car. It's got a few beaches, shops, and places to eat. Lots of surf schools if you fancied trying that.
Further afield, you've got Tintagel Castle about half an hour's drive. The English Heritage site has all the details for that. Padstow is about forty minutes. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastal footpaths around here.
For a wet day, the indoor pool in Bude is handy. The Eden Project is under an hour's drive.
There's parking for a couple of cars on the gravel drive. The garden is yours to use, and there's a barbecue.
