Holemoor Cottage
Holemoor Cottage is our place. It's a wing of the old farmhouse we live in, down a quiet lane near Bridgerule. There are electric gates at the top of the drive for privacy.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and a bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The rooms are comfortable, nothing too fancy. It's a 17th century building, so the walls are thick and the ceilings are low in places. You'll know you're in an old house.
You've got your own enclosed garden and patio with furniture. It's sunny out there. There's a field next to the cottage with a swing and slide for kids. We keep ponies and chickens nearby, and children are welcome to help collect eggs.
The main thing is the private indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi. It's just for guests at the cottage. You book slots to use it. It's good if the weather turns.
You're about seven miles from the coast at Bude and Widemouth Bay. That's where the surfing and good beaches are. Cornish beaches, but you're staying in Devon. It's about a fifteen minute drive.
Around here, you'll see a lot of wildlife. Barn owls, deer, all sorts of birds. It's very quiet.
For days out, the Tamar Lakes are close by for walking and fishing. Further along the coast in Cornwall, you've got Tintagel, Crackington Haven, and Padstow. In Devon, there's Clovelly and Westward Ho!. The Eden Project is under an hour's drive. For families, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep are nearby theme parks.
There's a shop and a pub about a mile and a half away in the village. They're fine for basics and a meal.
Facilities: everything on the list is there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
We leave you a welcome pack with some basics and a cream tea when you arrive.
