Thurlibeer House
Thurlibeer House is in Red Post, just over the Devon border into Cornwall. It's about four miles from Bude. The house is on the main road into Bude, so it's easy to find and good for getting around. It's a big, colonial-style place with seven bedrooms and sleeps up to fifteen.
It's got a 4 Star rating. Those stars are accurate – it's very comfortable and spacious. There are three bathrooms. The garden is enclosed and has a view out over the fields towards Widemouth Bay. You can see the sea from the upstairs windows.
There's a games room, which is handy for a group. The kitchen has a dishwasher, and there's a washing machine in a utility area. Bedding and towels are included. We can take up to three dogs.
The local shop and a fish and chip shop are about half a mile away. The nearest pub is a mile and a half. For the beach, Widemouth Bay is closest, or you can drive into Bude itself for a few different beaches. The sea pool at Summerleaze is good for a proper swim.
You can pick up the Bude Canal towpath about half a mile from the house. It's a flat, easy walk all the way into Bude, about three miles. Good for birdwatching. The South West Coast Path is nearby too. There's local golf, horse riding, and fishing.
Further out, you've got Boscastle, Tintagel, and Hartland Quay all within about half an hour's drive. Clovelly is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes.
