Brightlands is a flat on the first floor, just outside Bude. If you're coming from the south, you turn off the main road down a quiet lane, then into a big shared driveway. You can see Maer Lake from the living room window.
It's a two bedroom place and sleeps five. One bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable, not luxurious. The kitchen and living area is all one room. There's a patio door that opens out onto a little private terrace with a built-in BBQ. It gets the sun in the afternoon. The owners live on-site downstairs.
The main thing is the location. It feels like you're in the countryside, but you can walk into Bude town centre in about 15-20 minutes. Or you can walk the other way and be on the coastal path in five. The beach at Summerleaze is about a mile away.
Bude itself is a proper seaside town. It's got a few cafes, some pubs, a small supermarket. Nothing too fancy. The canal is nice for a walk. The sea pool at Summerleaze is good if the tide's in or the surf's a bit rough.
Within about half an hour's drive you've got a lot of the main north Cornwall spots. Boscastle harbour is dramatic, about 20 minutes down the coast. Tintagel and the castle are about 25 minutes. Crackington Haven is a nice cove for a swim. If you head over the border into Devon, Westward Ho! has that huge beach.
For facilities, you've got the basics: a washing machine, TV, parking right outside. Bedding is included. There's a shared garden of about an acre and a half everyone can use. No pets.
