Tremaer

Tremaer is near Bude, about a five-minute walk from Crooklets Beach. It's a terraced cottage, grade II listed, from the 14th century. You get your own big walled garden.

It sleeps nine. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. Two of those bedrooms are en-suite masters, so it works well for two families. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

It's old, so there are some quirks. The stairs are steep. The ceilings are low in places. You'll want to watch your head on some of the beams. There are original clome ovens in the fireplace, which are interesting, but you can't use them. The kitchen has an Aga.

There's a separate stable conversion that we use as a games room. It has a pool table and table tennis. The wood burner in the main living room is lovely in the evenings.

Bude itself is a short walk. It's a proper seaside town. It has three sandy beaches, a seawater pool at Summerleaze, shops, and plenty of places to eat. The North Cornwall Coastal Path runs right past the end of the road.

Within half an hour's drive you can get to the castle at Tintagel, run by English Heritage. Boscastle harbour is nice for a walk. The surf at Widemouth Bay is reliable. You can ride horses at a local stables.

For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for three cars on the gravel drive. Bedding is included. We accept up to two well-behaved dogs.
