Foxglove Lodge
Foxglove Lodge is one of a few detached lodges on our land near Whimble. It's on a quiet country lane, about a mile outside Holsworthy. The buildings have grass roofs, which means they blend into the fields.
It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. Everything is on one level, so there are no stairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and modern, not old-fashioned. The main room is open plan, with big doors out to a decked area. You look out over our fishing lakes and the countryside.
We've got about 19 acres here. There are two lakes for coarse fishing if you've got a license. There's a kids' play area with a boat-shaped climbing frame, and some walking routes around the edges of the fields.
Holsworthy is the nearest town. It's got a Tesco and a Co-op, a few pubs that do food, and a leisure centre with a pool. The nearest proper beach is Bude, which is about a 20 minute drive. Good for surfing. Widemouth Bay is similar.
If you're here with children, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks are both within half an hour's drive. For walking, you can get onto the coastal path easily from Bude, or head onto Dartmoor or into Cornwall. Launceston and Okehampton are both market towns about 20 minutes away in different directions.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring one dog. Parking is right outside the lodge.
