This is Church Cottage in St Gennys. It's a detached cottage next to the old church. You get the front garden, which is enclosed. The view from there is the main thing. You're looking straight out to Widemouth Bay. On a clear day, you can see Lundy Island.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. The layout is upside down. The bedrooms are downstairs and the living area is upstairs. The stairs are fine, and there's a stable door at the bottom that acts as a stair gate.
Crackington Haven is about a mile away, down the hill. You can walk it, but it's a steep walk back. By car it's five minutes. The beach there is good, gets sand at low tide. There's a pub, a couple of cafes, and some shops right by the sea.
You're really here for the coast path. It's about a 15 minute walk from the cottage to get onto it. The cliffs here are some of the highest in Cornwall, so the views are dramatic. There's also a footpath from the cottage that goes direct to the beach at Crackington Haven, which takes about 15 minutes on foot.
The owner, who lives nearby, sometimes runs conservation walks on the National Trust land. You'd need to ask about that when you book.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, TV, wifi. Bedding is included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring one well-behaved dog. There's parking on site. There's a BBQ and the garden furniture is out there.
