Mowhay Barn
Mowhay Barn is on a working sheep farm near Crackington Haven. You’re inland here, about five miles from the coast. It’s a converted barn, sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which reflects that it’s been done to a good standard.
The main living space downstairs is open plan. There’s a wood burner, which is good for cooler evenings. The kitchen area is part of that same room. Patio doors lead out to your own enclosed garden. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a little Juliet balcony and its own shower room.
It’s a farm, so there are some animals. You can feed the pigs and there are ponies. There’s a fishing lake on site, and a play area for children. The garden is enclosed, but if you’ve got a dog that’s a real escape artist, keep an eye out.
You’re well placed for the north Cornwall coast. Crackington Haven is the nearest beach, about five miles. It’s sand at low tide. Good for surfing. Widemouth Bay is to the north, Bude is a bit further on. To the south, Boscastle is worth a visit, and Tintagel with its castle is about eight miles. The new footbridge there makes access much easier.
In terms of what’s here: there’s parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a barbecue. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them.
