Kettle's On

Kettle's On is one of the converted barns at Higher Churchtown Farm, near Tresmeer. It's detached and all on one level. You get your own garden out the back.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's very comfortable, with underfloor heating and that sort of thing. It feels spacious.

The barns are next to the village church. The views from here are good, you can see right over to Dartmoor on a clear day. The owners are farmers, so it's a working place. There's lambing in the spring, up until about April.

All the barns share a big garden area with an above-ground swimming pool. There's also a games field, about half an acre, which is useful if you've got kids with energy to burn. Indoors, there's a TV, some books, games and puzzles.

The location is countryside. The village shop is three miles away. The nearest pub and restaurant are about four miles. Launceston is six miles. It's got the usual shops and a few places to eat.

For the coast, you're looking at about a twenty-minute drive. Places like Boscastle, Tintagel, and Port Isaac are all within half an hour. Padstow is a bit further, maybe forty minutes. Bude is about twenty-five minutes away.

If you want bigger days out, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are roughly forty-five minutes by car. You can walk straight from the barns onto footpaths across the farmland.

Facilities: it's got everything you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
