What A Beauty is a converted barn here on our farm in Tresmeer. It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's a 5 Star property, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable.
The barn is single-storey, so no stairs to worry about. It's open plan inside, with the original stone walls and beams. There's underfloor heating. Outside, you have your own small patio, and shared use of a larger garden area with a circular above-ground swimming pool. There's also a big games field, handy if you've got kids with energy to burn.
Inside, there's a 42-inch TV, games and DVDs. This particular barn has its own games room with a pool table and darts. A local artist displays paintings of Cornwall in the barns, which you can buy if you like one.
The farm is active. Lambing happens from January through to the beginning of April, if that's something you'd like to see. There's a nice walk from the barns across our land, following the river.
Tresmeer is a small village. The nearest shop is about three miles away in Launceston. The nearest pub is about four miles. Launceston has supermarkets, shops and a few places to eat. It's about a ten-minute drive.
The north coast is about ten miles, maybe a twenty-minute drive. Bude is close, good for surfing. Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac and Padstow are all within about half an hour. For a big day out, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are also about a 30-minute drive.
Facilities: there's parking right outside. WiFi, bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair. We have a BBQ you can use. No pets, sorry.
There are three other barns here at Higher Churchtown Farm. They can be booked together if you have a larger group.
