Proper Job is a converted barn on our farm in Tresmeer. It's one of four barns here, set next to the village church. The views over the fields are good. You can see Dartmoor on a clear day.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-finished. Underfloor heating downstairs, which is nice in the cooler months.
The barn is open plan, with a vaulted ceiling and some exposed stone walls. The stairs to the first floor are the original farmhouse stairs. They're steady, but they turn a corner and are a bit steeper than modern ones.
You get your own small patio area. There's also a large shared garden with an 18-foot swimming pool. It's above-ground, but it's decent for a splash about. We have a games field too, about half an acre, which is useful if you've got children with you. There's a shared games room in another barn with a pool table and darts.
The Wi-Fi works. TV, dishwasher, washing machine are all there. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
The farm is a working farm. Lambing happens here from January to the start of April, if that's of interest.
There's a pub and a shop about four miles away in Launceston. Launceston itself is six miles. It's got the basics: shops, a few restaurants. The north coast is about ten miles. Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac are all within a 30 minute drive. Padstow is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes.
For a big day out, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are both under an hour away. For walking, the National Trust has most of the coastal spots covered.
The other three barns can be booked together if you've got a bigger group.
