The Duchy is at Trewint, which is inland but only a few minutes’ drive from the coast. It’s part of a small group of cottages converted from old farm buildings.
It sleeps eight. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s a 4 Star property, so it’s well-equipped and comfortable. The main living area is open plan. The entrance and the ground floor are wheelchair accessible.
You have your own enclosed garden with a patio and a barbecue. There’s on-site parking and an electric vehicle charger.
The place has a shared games room. It’s got a pool table, air hockey, and a dartboard. There’s a Bluetooth speaker and a disco ball too, if you fancy it.
The nearest beach is Crackington Haven, about three miles away. It’s a mix of sand and stones depending on the tide, good for swimming and surfing. There’s a pub and tea rooms there. For a bigger beach with more sand, you’d drive a bit further to somewhere like Bude.
Bude is about a 20-minute drive. It’s a proper town with shops, supermarkets, places to eat, and an indoor swimming pool. The beaches there are good for families.
Within half an hour you can get to lots of the north Cornwall spots. Boscastle, Tintagel Castle, and Morwenstow are all close. Padstow is about 40 minutes if the traffic’s alright. The whole stretch of coast here is owned by the National Trust and is great for walking. For a change from the coast, Exmoor National Park is under an hour away.
Inside, it’s got the basics covered: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
It can be booked with the other cottages here if you’ve got a bigger group. For planning, the Cornwall Council page on the coast path is useful.
