From the moment you arrive you’ll know you’ve made a great choice. Set behind a country house with a private terrace and views to the meadow at the rear, Lakeside Lodge offers a tranquil escape. Guests will love the stylish décor and thought which has gone into the interior design. Fully refurbished and newly listed for 2022, you’ll find it has all the modern amenities you need without losing any of the character and charm that this delightful cottage offers. You’ll find Lakeside Lodge just at the head of Bassenthwaite Lake with plenty of walks right from your door, so you can escape to the countryside in no time.
The ground floor features an open plan living area with plenty of easy seating, Smart TV, dining table, and French doors leading to a private terrace. It’s a great sun trap and ideal for a cold beer or a glass of wine while soaking up the sunshine. There is also a well-equipped kitchen and a shower room on the ground floor. The bedroom is on the first floor mezzanine with a comfortable bed, plenty of storage and hanging space and pleasant views. Your dog is welcome at this property too.
The location is great, you have a couple of good pubs within walking distance offering local ales and excellent food. If you like walking, hiking or cycling, you’re never too far away from your next adventure. There is good access to plenty of routes nearby as well as more challenging fells including Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg and Blencathra to name a few. Just a mile away is The Lake District Wildlife Park with over 100 species of wild animals. You can take an alpaca for a walk at Alpacaly Ever After or take a trip to The Lakes Distillery, offering tasting tours.
The cottage is just 8 miles from the popular town of Keswick on the shores of Derwentwater, with an abundance of dining and shopping experiences. The Pencil Museum is home to the world’s largest pencil, and The Theatre by the Lake offers award winning arts and drama, and the mind-boggling world of The Puzzling Place is fun for all ages. Or why not take a trip to Cockermouth, 6 miles, the birthplace of William Wordsworth.
