There is a shower room upstairs as well as a lovely, decked balcony, featuring patio furniture. It’s ideal to sit outside on an evening soaking up the sunshine with a chilled glass of wine, overlooking the sheep in the meadow behind. It is very private and gives you a feeling of escapism. On the ground floor you’ll find a split living room with low ceilings and traditional beams. One half is a snug with armchairs and a cosy wood burner whilst the other half features a Smart TV with Netflix. There’s plenty of easy seating and it leads to an open-plan kitchen/diner offering everything you will need to prepare hearty meals while on holiday. There’s also a good-sized bathroom on the ground floor with bath and washing machine. It is easy to park directly outside and you’re only a short drive from a couple of local pubs/restaurants nearby.
This is a great location if you want to explore the Lake District National Park. There’s so much to see and do nearby. The market town of Cockermouth is just 12 minutes’ drive with independent shops, cafes, coffee shops, pubs and your usual supermarkets for your supplies. You can take a tour of Jennings Brewery beneath the castle walls or visit Wordsworth House and Gardens. The beach at Allonby is just 15 minutes’ drive, perfect if you want to exercise your dogs along the beach. Nearby Maryport has a harbour and The Wave Centre with climbing wall for the kids. Driving southeast brings you to Bassenthwaite in just 15 minutes with the Lake District Wildlife Park, a great day out with the family. Nearby there is alpaca trekking and also the Lakes Distillery with tasting tours available. You’re only 25 minutes’ drive from the popular town of Keswick too, with an abundance of bars, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. If you love the outdoors, you can walk, ride, climb, sail and hike all in one day. Beach 8 miles. Pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
