This beautiful countryside cottage is attached to a Georgian house at the head of Bassenthwaite Lake. The contemporary design and stylish interior make it perfect for couples and families, looking for a peaceful Lake District retreat. From the moment you arrive you’ll know you’ve made a great choice. With private parking, a private terrace and views to the meadow at the rear, Meadowside Cottage offers a tranquil escape, close to Keswick and Cockermouth. Guests will love the stylish décor and thought which has gone into the interior design. Fully refurbished and newly listed for 2022, you’ll find it has all the modern amenities you need without losing any of the character and charm that this delightful cottage offers. The ground floor features an open plan living area with plenty of easy seating, a Smart TV, a dining table and a well-equipped, modern kitchen. It comes with everything you need for a hearty meal after a day of adventure. It also has a utility room with additional toilet. French doors lead to a private terrace with seating area, garden furniture and a barbecue. It’s a great sun trap and ideal for sipping a cold beer or a glass of wine while soaking up the sunshine. Your dog is welcome at this property too. Upstairs you’ll find two spacious bedrooms with pleasant views to the surrounding countryside. The master features a kingsize bed, which can be made into a twin on request, while the second bedroom offers a double bed. Both come with calming colours, comfortable beds, plenty of storage and both feature an en-suite walk-in shower room.
The location is great; you have a couple of good pubs within walking distance offering local ales and excellent food. If you like walking, hiking or cycling, you’re never too far away from your next adventure. There is good access to plenty of routes nearby as well as more challenging fells including Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg and Blencathra to name a few. Just a mile away is The Lake District Wildlife Park with over one hundred species of wild animals. You can take an alpaca for a walk at Alpacaly Ever After or take a trip to The Lakes Distillery, offering tasting tours and are producers of fine whisky, gin and vodka, always a hit.
The cottage is just 8 miles from the popular town of Keswick on the shores of Derwentwater, with an abundance of dining and shopping experiences. The Pencil Museum is home to the world’s largest pencil, and the Theatre by the Lake offers award-winning arts and drama, and the mind-boggling world of The Puzzling Place is fun for all ages. Or why not take a trip to Cockermouth, 6 miles, the birthplace of William Wordsworth?
