Swallow Cottage is a delightful and unique cottage set in a peaceful location in the popular coastal village of Southerness with delightful sea views from the cottage and the large enclosed garden which surrounds Swallow Cottage. Lovingly restored by the owners Swallow Cottage has many delightful features throughout from the panelling on the walls to the inviting open plan kitchen/diner. The Conservatory is a wonderful place to sit and relax during the day and by night the living room with its ambient lighting is just delightful. With cosy beds and a modern shower room you will feel right at home at Swallow Cottage. Located on the spectacular Solway Coast, this lovely little coastal village of Southerness has undoubtedly some of the most outstanding views of the Solway Firth to the English Lake District. From Swallow Cottage explore the vast sandy beach and the striking white landmark of the lighthouse or challenge yourself on Southerness’ very own championship golf course. Close to the stunning Galloway Forest Park, Britain’s largest forest park, this is a popular area for walkers and cyclists with world class mountain biking at Dalbeattie 7 Stanes nearby. The area offers unspoilt villages, dramatic coastlines, sandy beaches, rocky coves, magnificent gardens, castles and ancient monuments. Wildlife abounds and the RSPB nature reserve is just along the coast. With sailing, fishing and riding all close by there is something to entertain everyone! Of course if a week of relaxing by the sea to escape today’s hectic life is all you are looking for the village has 2 well stocked shops, pub/restaurant, an excellent fish and chip shop and an indoor swimming pool.
