Paul Jones Retreat, a lovely holiday caravan, occupies an enviable spot within Southerness Holiday Village, right on the sea front with spectacular uninterrupted sea views. Tastefully decorated throughout, it has open plan living/kitchen/dining with a large picture window. The popular coastal village of Southerness has undoubtedly some of the most outstanding views of the Solway Firth to the English Lake District. From the caravan, you really are a stone’s throw from the beach and the striking white landmark of the lighthouse.
There is plenty to keep the kids occupied with a variety of facilities open in the seasonal months including the indoor swimming pool, adventure playground and amusement arcade. Most of all though, there are miles of expansive beach for them to explore! With two well stocked shops, a fish and chip shop and a bar and restaurant you might not need to venture any further than Paul Jones Retreat. If you do, this is the ideal location from which to explore beautiful Dumfries and Galloway from walking, sailing and mountain biking at the world famous 7 Stanes at Mabie Forest or Dalbeattie Forest. There is an abundance of historical sites throughout the region and many fun-filled activities for adults and children alike, from adventure playgrounds and farm parks to gin tasting!
The area is also well recognised for its clear skies as one of the twelve best stargazing sites in the world and the first Dark Sky Park in the UK therefore after a day exploring either the beach or the region sit back and relax marvelling at the dark starry skies.
