Tucked away at the far end of a quiet courtyard is Millers Cottage, a two storey conversion with plenty of space for all. Ideal for young families that want a fun, relaxing holiday with a little bit of adventure thrown in too.
The large entrance hallway is perfect for leaving your wellies and walking boots before heading to the living area with comfy sofas and a dining table for tasty breakfasts and evening board games. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you could need for preparing delicious home-cooked meals. Upstairs are two comfortable bedrooms, a double with a wonderful four poster bed, and a bunk room with adult-sized bunk beds. Leading off from the landing is a family bathroom, and underfloor heating warms the accommodation throughout. Outside is a small seating area to the front, overlooking the pleasant and well-kept courtyard.
Croftlands Court is a former 17th-century coach house and stable block containing four apartments and one cottage. Subject to availability, it is possible to use the on-site tea room for larger groups as a dining area. Set on a working farm with a prize winning herd of pedigree Jersey cows, the owners will be happy to show you around. Meet the curious calves, flock of hens, ducks, rabbits and Kerry the little white terrier as well as the farm cat too.
The local area is packed with fun things to do for all the family. Take a visit to the Victorian seaside town of Silloth, with children’s play area and arcades to pass the time away, or venture further down the coast road to Allonby, with large open stretches of beaches, and a very popular ice cream shop. Further inland you will find the northern part of the Lake District National Park, where you can take in a scenic drive with lakes, fells and plenty of stops for a picnic. Then, finish back at the farm and enjoy a pot of tea and home baked cake at the on-site ‘Cups and Saucers’ tea room, open March through to October. With coast, countryside, lakes and hills there is something for everyone, whatever the weather. Beach 4¼ miles. Shop 4¼ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
Millers Cottage can be booked together with The Swallow’s Nest, The Hayloft, The Coach House and The Granary to accommodate up to 20 guests.
