The Coach House, as its name suggests, was the former coach house for Houghton House and sits within the beautiful grounds. Situated on the same site as the owners, it has been completely renovated, and is beautifully furnished throughout, providing contemporary holiday accommodation for up to five guests. The ground floor offers a light and airy reception hall, which overlooks the gardens of the Houghton House, and two double bedrooms. A modern glass staircase with mood lighting leads to the first floor which overlooks the reception hall. The living room gives that feeling of space, with its high ceilings and large comfortable corner sofa on which to sit back and relax watching the large 85" TV. Guests will enjoy the little touches provided throughout the cottage, like the handmade leather handles on the doors, kitchen units and built in wardrobes in the bedrooms.
The Coach House, whilst situated in a beautiful rural setting is only minutes’ drive from the hub of the area. The property is situated close to Cumbria’s capital city, Carlisle, where you can visit a range of attractions including the Museum of Military Life, Tullie House and the cathedral. A short drive will take you to the ruins of the famous Hadrian’s Wall, or why not take a drive over the border to the beautiful beaches of Dumfries and Galloway and the pretty village of Gretna Green? While in Cumbria, however, no stay would be complete without a visit to the stunning Lake District National Park, now a World Heritage Site, with its mountains and lakes and thriving communities like Keswick and Windermere. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
